In 1998, Nationwide
Focused Publications discovered a relatively untapped
Market. Advertisers were discovering the purchasing
power of the 'modern'college student. No longer were
Mom & Dad controlling the 'purse' strings. The independent
student had disposable income and local businesses were
looking for ways to reach those students and get their
messages in front of this burgeoning consumer market.
About the same time Universities were starting to feel
the 'crunch'. Printing costs were skyrocketing and the
challenge of producing a Student Handbook or New Student
Directory in the midst of budget constraints were daunting.
NFP had a vision. Advertisers want to reach those students
and Universities need to pay for printing and production.
Why couldn't one help offset the other? Our first client
Emory University in Atlanta was on the right track,
students were attempting to contact local advertisers.......BUT
students are.....well, STUDENTS. They were not skilled
sales people with countless hours of time for sales
calls, call backs and prospecting. Students need to
spend that time getting an education. Emory decided
to let a professional sales organization market that
advertising. The rest is history.
NFP now works with Universities around the country.
Student Handbooks and New Student Directories represent
a high percentage of this niche market. Occasionally
a need for Yearbook Advertising or a high quality Career
Guide will draw NFP into these arenas as well.
